Amityville Animal Hospital

There’s No Pet Like Yours,
And No Place Like Ours.

We don't just have pet skills, we have people skills.

We want to make a difference in your life, and in the lives of your pets. From routine preventative care for your young and healthy pet, to early detection and treatment of disease as your pet gets older, we strive to keep our patients healthy and comfortable. We offer complete medical and surgical care while working with pet owners to address concerns, making them feel secure and confident in their decisions.

The doctors and staff at Amityville Animal Hospital are genuine, well-practiced and exceptionally adept in client communication. We will meet not only the needs of your pet, but your needs as a pet owner, with competence and caring, and take pride in the fact that our lead veterinarian, Dr. Glen Roiland, is personally committed to the care of each of his patients. He would never make a recommendation for your pet that he wouldn’t consider for his own — and that’s something you can trust.

Amityville Animal Hospital is accredited by the New York State Veterinary Medical Society (NYSVMS), which performs regular evaluations of each of its members to ensure that the highest standards of veterinary medicine are practiced and maintained.

“I have never met a doctor that was so compassionate for
both animal and owner. My cat became very ill overnight
and Dr. Roiland did everything (and I mean everything)
to save him... I would recommend him to everyone;
from the first visit you feel like family.”

Our history, from then to now…

Constructed in 1968 by Dr. VanName, Amityville Animal Hospital (formerly VanName Animal Hospital) has been a landmark on the South Shore of Long Island for over four decades.

A former employee of the VanName Animal Hospital, Dr. Anthony J. Cuccaro bought the practice in 1979 and renamed it Amityville Animal Hospital, branding the location as a well-respected, community-driven practice that people would travel near and far to reach.

When Dr. Cuccaro took over the business, there was only one phone line, six file drawers and one way to take notes — by hand. Since then, innumerable upgrades to the building have been completed; the hospital now contains a full laboratory and pharmacy as well as state-of-the-art equipment not usually associated with small practices. Most diagnostic and treatment procedures can be performed from the comfort of the hospital itself.

Dr. Roiland joined Amityville Animal Hospital in 2006 and continues today to further the practice’s legacy of high-quality, cutting-edge medicine. He is constantly adding to the hospital’s roster of diagnostically superior services, most recently purchasing a new laser therapy unit especially effective for treating inflammatory and other painful conditions.
